Story synopsis.

The Darkside Saga Book Six

Let me start out by saying that The DarkSide Saga is one of the most erotic and darkest book series I've ever read. It all begins with the introduction of the Dark One himself, Gabriel Douglas but known throughout the LifeStyle as DL (Dark Lord). The journey through DL's life is one like no other.

He is a dark man. A man that carries his dominance with great pride. A man who knows what he wants and doesn't hesitate to take it. But behind this man, this Lord of all in this LifeStyle, is a man seeking his true place on the throne but from deep within his soul.

Throughout the Saga, DL is challenged by Lady Fate. His heart, his love, his hunger for  his lady loves are put to the test with results that will leave you in shock.  Loyalties broken due to greed and power of others. New loves collared. Old bonds stronger. Self-destruction that goes farther than anyone could ever imagine.

What is it that Lady Fate has in store for DL?

Reborn: The Final Chapter brings DL's life into a rebirth, not only a rebirth of his Lordship but a rebirth of his soul. Wow, this last chapter was just fantastic. The new characters, the introduction of a Priestess, the new love, and the return of the Grand Ball.

I do believe DL was reborn in this last book. There was a piece that fell right where it belonged. I gasped in that very shocking moment and the tears flowed. I felt the emotion that oozed through the words written. A beautiful ending that also left me smiling. DL stayed true to who and what he is but you saw a growth of understanding of it all in the end.

Author Douglas Vaughan is a magnificent writer. The great amount of detail written about the historical buildings, history in itself, the character description of emotion and OH MY GOODNESS the erotic scenes, will just leave you breathless. I didn't want it to end but at one point all great things must come to an end.

I personally read the first five books in the saga in about a week. I couldn't stop reading. The story is addicting in a great way. Once you thought it couldn't get any better...BAM it does. The wait for Reborn was tortures for a fangirl like me but well worth the wait. DL's journey may be over but the writing of his creator Douglas Vaughan is here to stay.

 Reborn is deserving of more than just 5 🌟 so I give it all the stars in the galaxy.

The first stroke landed on her ass. Unlike the sensual flogging, the whip cut across her skin like a blade, leaving a line of fire in its wake.

Rylee hissed her pain. She still managed to keep the chain between her teeth, and saliva drooled down her chin. Her heart was pounding so loudly she was sure Taggart could hear it. 

The whip snaked out once more, its tail curling cruelly over both ass cheeks so that the tip bit into the thin skin stretched over her hipbone.

Despite her best intentions, Rylee’s mouth opened of its own accord, and she screamed, the chain falling away.

Taggart appeared in front of her. “Focus, R. You can do better.”

Tears blurring her eyes, Rylee nodded. 

He lifted the chain that hung between her now completely numb nipples and touched her lips with it. 

Rylee forced herself to open her mouth. Taggart pushed the chain onto her tongue, and Rylee closed her teeth over the wet, metal links. 

She tried to keep her eyes on the image of his face in the mirror as the whip licked over her ass and the backs of her thighs. 

It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts.

Why had she thought she wanted this? How could she possibly endure any more?

Even as these rebellious thoughts crashed into her brain, she became aware of the deep, urgent tug of pure, raw desire deep in her sex.

More, more, more.

As her skin adjusted to the fiery onslaught of the whip, she became calmer. She hadn’t realized she’d risen on her toes, but she now made a conscious effort to lower her feet until they were once more flat on the ground.

He put down the whip and picked up the leather paddle. Though Rylee knew from experience a paddle could pack a serious wallop, she was at the point where, in spite of her fear, or perhaps partially because of it, she was primed and ready to receive its leather slap.

Or so she had thought.

The first strike covered the entire surface area of her ass in one savage blow. Pain exploded like stars, knocking the breath from her lungs and the chain from her mouth. 

He struck again, the force of the thrust pushing her body forward as her heart crashed into her ribs.

She screamed.

Again and again the paddle pounded against her flesh, reverberating in her bones. 

She could hear herself whimpering and knew she was dancing and twisting on her toes, but was completely powerless to control herself. Yet, no matter how much she flailed and cried, she couldn’t escape the relentless pounding of the all-encompassing paddle.

Above the thumping crash of her heart, she heard Taggart’s deep, gravelly voice. “Let go. Let the pain flow through you. Let it lift you into its arms. Do it for me, R. Surrender to me.”

His words penetrated her trembling panic like a flame shining into the darkness. 

All at once, she was enveloped in a velvety, encompassing warmth. 

Her body stilled, her feet lowering of their own accord to the floor, her clenched fists unfurling above her bound wrists. Her head was heavy, too heavy to support and she let it fall back, her lips parting, her eyes closing.

“Yes,” Taggart breathed behind her. “That’s it, R. You’re almost there.”

The paddle nearly lifted her from the ground with its force, but the pain had gone. Or not gone precisely, but transformed into something loftier and more rarefied than simple erotic pain.

Rylee felt at once heavy and light. Her feet were planted firmly on the ground, her muscles no longer twitching, her heart beating in a slow, steady rhythm like the pounding of the funeral drum. At the same time, she was as light as air, as if her spirit were hovering above her body. It was a lightness of being, of freedom so absolute she thought she might float away altogether, were it not for the rope and Taggart’s deep, steady voice keeping her tethered to reality.

“Yes,” he urged. “That’s it. You’re there. I can feel it too. I’m with you. Don’t be afraid to let go. I’ll keep you safe.”

She became aware the paddling had stopped, but her spirit continued to soar on wings of pure and utter peace.

Taggart’s arms encircled her from behind. He touched the clamps that still held her numb nipples tight in their grip. 

“Stay where you are. Don’t let this distract you.”

Two small explosions of pain at her nipples nearly jerked her from the heavens, but Taggart’s hands immediately covered and cupped her breasts, his lips brushing the side of her neck in a sweet, caressing kiss, and the pain ebbed away like a half-forgotten dream.

Sofia barely moves and that makes me smile, until a bug flies into my mouth. Even eating bugs is better than prison. It’s a twenty-minute ride to Payson. We hit the Sonic on the right side of the highway by the casino. I roll the bike under the covered parking and turn off the engine. “We can take it back to the club or eat on the patio,” I tell her.

“Patio, please,” she says in a shaky voice. She’s trembling when I take her hand and help her off the bike. She won’t look at me. I squeeze her fingers and pretend I have no idea how terrified she was to ride.

I’ll admit I’m wary about having her in public. I don’t need trouble with the cops. I’m not wearing my colors or carrying my gun. As an ex-con, I’m a prohibited possessor of a gun. Sofia needs to keep it casual and I’m hoping my threat against Red will do the trick. Even so, I don’t see her as someone who cries to the cops. She fucking pointed a gun at me yesterday. She also planned to murder Fox.

We place our order. This isn’t exactly how you wine and dine a girl. This is me, though. After seven years of hell inside prison, I’d rather eat fast food whenever possible than sit inside a restaurant. I take a good long look at Sofia.

She takes off the sunglasses and moves a stray piece of hair out of her eyes. “Why are you looking at me like that, bolillo?”

“Bolillo?”

“Never heard a white slur before?”

I can’t help the grin that splits my face. She’s always challenging me. “Never heard that particular one, princess.” Her eyes are almost black. I’d like to see them burning as I ram my cock into her tight little pussy.

“It means white bread bun.”

My laugh is loud in the quiet setting. No one else is sitting outside their vehicle. It’s in the low eighties up here in the mountains. Much cooler than Phoenix but still hot enough to stay in the car with the air cranked. “That the best insult you got?”

Her skimpy shirt clings to her and does nothing to hide the bit of lace she’s wearing to push out her breasts. There’s sweat on her brow and her dark hair is wild with wisps sticking up all over the place. She must read something in my eyes because she steps back.

“Not a good idea, princess,” I say as I reach above her head and close the bedroom door behind her. I pull her closer and she pushes against my chest, which does absolutely nothing. I’m bigger and stronger and so are my brothers. That’s another lesson she needs to learn. My right hand slides up her back until I grab a nice chuck of hair at her neckline. It’s time to set the record straight and teach her her place.

“You have one chance and one chance only to choose who you belong to—my brothers or me. They’ll share you like a club whore until there’s nothing left. I’ll fuck you the same way, but I don’t share.” I roughly pull her head back.

There’s fire in her brown eyes—fury and desire mixed. Her voice holds only fury when she says, “That’s my choice? I can be gang raped or fucked by you?”

I have no idea why I’m always pushing her. I’ll admit the fire in her dark eyes turns me the fuck on. “I haven’t made up my mind if your pussy is worth the trouble or not. If you choose me, we’ll start with a blow job.”

Her right palm slams upward between us. She tries to jam it into my chin. I jerk my head back just in time. I twist her around so her back is to my chest while keeping a tight hold on her hair. My left hand slides up until I’m holding one firm breast. I squeeze until she groans.
